An island like no other, we love Coll

Beautiful beaches

The Isle of Coll in the Inner Hebrides enjoys a mild climate with a high sunshine record. Coll lies some 53 miles from Oban and is approximately 13 miles long by 3 miles wide, with many unspoilt sandy beaches.

Flora & Fauna

In the summer there is a profusion of wild flowers and a multitude of bird life including the (in)famous corncrake. The RSPB has owned a reserve on Coll for some years to promote the conservation of the corncrake and other island species. Weekly guided walks are available during the summer months - click here for more details

Natures playground

For the more energetic there is bicycle hire, kayak hire and the island boasts an interesting 9 hole golf course. Loch fishing is also available. The island has a grocery shop, hotel, post office, licensed restaurant, church and craft shop.

We now have Bikes, Kayaks and a SUP available for guest use.

• Bikes, kayaks and the SUP are available on a first come first served basis

• We do not supply bicycle helmets

• The equipment is not for hire, but donations towards upkeep would be gratefully received

Getting to Coll

Calmac Ferry

Most people travel to Coll by ferry from Oban. There are daily sailings in the summer and 5 services a week in the winter. These same ferries go to Tiree and Barra (Barra once a week) so you can also get to Coll from these neighbouring islands. It is advisable to book cars in advance.

Hebridean Air Services

Flights for Coll leave from Connel airport near Oban or Tiree, next door. There are two flights a day from Glasgow to Tiree (Loganair) so it's possible to fly from Glasgow to Coll and back.

Private Boat Charter

If you feel like a treat and want to experience the thrill of a sea-going rib then Tiree & Coll Sea Tours or Coastal Connections (mainland) can arrange to pick you up or drop you off at almost any location by the sea.
